In this second part of our How To Social Media series, we start to look at how you can use Social Media as a powerful tool to grow your brand awareness, and some really easy tips to make it easy to do.
Find Your Audience
A really important component, and your first start, before you start focusing on a particular social platform, is to find out whether your target audience is on it. For example, if you are a Business to Business company you may find your audience on LinkedIn rather than Facebook.
Use Visuals
Visuals not only increase engagement - the also boost shares, so grab your audience's attention with eye-catching visuals to accompany your content. It bears repeating - a picture says a thousand words - and a great image or video will make your audience pause their scroll through their feed, and this plays a big role in helping you grow your brand awareness on social media channels.
Create Conversations
Make sure that you use social media for two-way conversations so you engage with your audience - ask questions, post polls, tag others, share interesting posts from other pages, update your audience with industry relevant content from other experts, showcase your personality with funny and personable posts if that's your brand. Build conversations or you’ll only grab so much attention.
Measure, Don't Guess
Make sure your efforts are getting you the results. Use the tracking tools provided by the platforms (e.g: on Facebook they provide your page with Insights) or external tools such as Google Analytics etc. to measure your social media activity. These tools provide you with valuable insights to help you understand what’s working, and what's not. This means that you can target and optimize your efforts, making sure you build a stronger brand.
Build Authority
When work on building your authority by sharing real value, and build your credibility as an expert in your field. Make sure you have a mix of your own original content, as well as borrowed content. Your audience is following you because they believe in you - so make sure you reward that trust and showcase your skills and experience, and how your business can help them.
And remember, it takes time - but every step you take to increase brand awareness with social media will impact the overall growth of your business in the long run.
